WOMEN IN ASPHALT PROGRAM
Protech, working with long-term clients Fulton-Hogan and Boral, have introduced the Women in Asphalt program, an initiative that provides opportunities for women to gain the qualifications necessary to find employment and excel in the construction industry.
The program was sparked by Fulton Hogan after the success of Protech’s Women in Construction initiative, which was designed to address the long-standing issue of the under-representation of women in the industry. Protech is committed to achieving gender equality, starting with a greater representation in non-traditional roles.
The Program
Women in Asphalt is run in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast, where participants complete a Certificate II in Construction over the course of 12 weeks. Current Training, Australia’s premier Registered Training Organisation (RTO), will be conducting the course, which blends practical and theoretical elements for a more comprehensive overview of the industry.
After the initial Certificate II is complete, participants are then supported as they complete an additional Certificate III qualification in an area of interest determined by direct collaboration between our clients and the participants.
Committed to Diversifying the Industry
The Women in Asphalt program is another step in Protech’s commitment to raising the number of women in the construction industry from the current 12% to 25% by 2026.
This target will be reached not only through these types of initiatives, but also by fostering participants’ careers after completion of the program to improve job retention.
Protech’s support network is unrivalled in the industry. There is constant mentorship, advice, and problem-solving offered to all employees during their training and employment.
the Protech Co-Creation Process
Protech also offers the Co-Creation solution, which provides exactly the workforce the client requires. This bespoke service involves working closely with clients to consider their specific needs, then organising a high-quality, reliable team perfect for their project.
