Protech are currently recruiting for an Engineering Assistant to join a dynamic Infrastructure Services team delivering key projects across a growing regional community on the Mid North Coast.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and detail-oriented professional to contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects while building experience in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Infrastructure Services, you will provide essential administrative and operational support to the project delivery team. This role plays a key part in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget.
You will be responsible for coordinating procurement, supporting reporting, and assisting with the delivery of infrastructure programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and operational support to the project delivery team
- Prepare reports, correspondence, presentations, and meeting documentation
- Coordinate procurement of goods and services, including liaising with suppliers and contractors
- Assist with financial tracking, budget reporting and program expenditure summaries
- Prepare and submit applications and liaise with government departments
- Maintain accurate records, registers, and project documentation
- Support project reporting including progress updates, milestones, and risk identification
- Assist with meeting coordination, agendas, and minutes
About You:
- Qualifications in business administration, project management, or equivalent experience
- Strong administrative and computer skills, including Excel and reporting tools
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical capability
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- A proactive attitude and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence
- Experience within local government or infrastructure projects (desireable but not essential)
- Basic understanding of engineering or project management principles (desireable but not essential)
- Familiarity with GIS or mapping systems (desireable but not essential)
- Ability to interpret plans and technical drawings (desireable but not essential)
