About the Melbourne Storm
The Melbourne Storm team has an unparalleled rugby dynasty, outshining their competition.
Founded in 1998 as the first-ever professional Victorian rugby club, for over 16 years, Melbourne Storm have been trailblazers in their contending for titles, and winning the club’s maiden premiership in their second year. To date, Melbourne Storm has played in a total of eleven grand finals and won four National Rugby League Premierships in 1999, 2012, 2017, and 2020, and five Minor Premierships in 2011, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2021 – a remarkable feat.
Mental Resilience and Wellness
Professional rugby is a gruelling job, and it’s important to gauge players’ mental wellbeing in order to improve athletic performance and prowess. Protech Group’s partner company Cernova will work with the Melbourne Storm to measure players’ resilience and safety through the power of neurometric assessments and AI, as part of the 2022 season partnership.
These resilience and safety assessments grant coaches and sports scientists rare insight into the mental wellbeing of their athletes and will be instrumental in assessing the stressors impeding the players from top performance.
Cernova’s Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), in collaboration with Melbourne Storm, will help directly combat athlete-centric issues like sports anxiety, irregularities in performance, demotivation, anxiety, stress, and self-esteem issues. This program will render their experience with the club more fulfilling, leading to better performance, productivity, and motivation.
