Protech are currently seeking Field Officers to work from the Virginia Depot with the Fire Ant Program through Biosecurity Queensland starting 28/8/2026
This is an ongoing position and will require thorough and effective surveillance and treatment of insect pests through Southern Queensland.

- Able to work a 9 day fortnight – Monday to Friday, with an RDO once a fortnight
- Hours of work: Start times between 6:30am and 7am. Finish times between 3:30pm and 4pm.
- Uniform, PPE and vehicle during work hours provided

Key Duties:
- Visual surveillance and bait treatment for insects across site locations
- Daily reporting tasks, data collection, and record keeping
- Customer service
- Operate a GPS and tablet
- Driving a Company vehicle
Mandatory Position Requirements:
- Australian open car licence – P platers may apply
- MUST have outdoor work experience in Landscaping, Agriculture, Arboriculture, Land Management and Conservation, Civil OR Hiking/ Bushwalking
- MUST be physically fit as the role requires substantial walking through challenging terrain up to 10 – 15klm per day spreading bait or conducting surveillance with a pointer poking the ground (through colder months)
- Ability to work in a team environment – Teams between 10-12 people
- Face to Face customer service experience
- MUST be able to complete and pass a Police check , Drug screen and Physical assessment
