Construction Maintenance Supervisor – Government

Protech are searching for a Construction & Maintenance Supervisor to work in with a government department throughout the greater Rockhampton region. A great opportunity to get a foot in the door to a government based roll. Position will initially be short term however the is the possibility for extension and other opportunities, all going to plan. 

The primary purpose of the position is to assist in managing and coordinating project planning and delivery activities to maximise project profitability and ensure client satisfaction. The position will focus on ensuring the services provided meet quality and value for money expectations of clients. What you will be doing:

  • Produce high quality tender and quotation documentation for building projects and prepare accurate and timely estimates, quotations, and project trade packages, including material lists and construction programs.
  • Provide a level of supervisory services in respect to the delivery of construction, maintenance and upgrade work undertaken by the client, including assisting in the planning and delivery of projects through the efficient supervision and development of office staff, field staff and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate and undertake the delivery of a high- quality condition assessment services for a variety of clients, including inspections/surveys of building elements and construction materials including collecting samples of suspected asbestos containing materials for laboratory testing.
  • Undertake inspection services including tenancy management services and maintenance referrals on behalf of Government Employee Housing.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with current human resource practices and principles, including employment equity, anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety. Ensure application of Safety Management System, including: Participate in and facilitate WHS audits under the direction of the Regional WHS Adviser; Undertake on-site WHS inspections including plant and equipment checks; Ensure all job documentation includes safe work method statement or other risk assessment documentation as appropriate; and to Promote and ensure a healthy and safe work environment through own practices and education and awareness raising of staff and contractors while working with the Regional WHS Advisor and the clients WHS Manager to promote a consistent WHS approach in our clients workplaces.
  • Promoting the clients products and services to existing and prospective clients through regular meetings and established forums, and identifying opportunities for new business services based on emerging economic, legislative, and environmental programs
  • Proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of your staff (if applicable) 

Mandatory position requirements: 

  • White Card 
  • While not mandatory, a construction industry-related trade qualification would be considered favourably. 
  • Ability to pass D&A testing
  • Be able to commence 20/7/2026
  • Drivers Licence

Rate: $62.59hr
Travel may be an integral activity for this (or as negotiated). The majority of this will be road travel, and there may also be occasions (if required) where you will travel by light aircraft.
