About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and versatile Cook / Peggy to support site operations at Koolyanobbing. This is a Drive-In/Drive-Out (DIDO) role on a 2:1 roster, working closely with a small, tight-knit team.
This is a mixed role combining camp duties with operational support ideal for someone who enjoys variety, working independently, and being part of a remote team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook daily meals for a small site crew
- Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organised kitchen and dining area
- Manage food stock, ordering, and storage
- Perform general cleaning duties across camp facilities (kitchen, dining, amenities)
- Collect product samples from stockpiles as required
- Assist with basic laboratory tasks and sample handling
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Support the wider team with general site duties when required
About You
- Previous experience as a Cook, Kitchen Hand, or Peggy within a remote or camp environment (highly regarded)
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to cook for small crews and manage meal planning independently
- Reliable, organised, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Comfortable performing both hospitality and site-based tasks
- Physically fit and capable of manual duties (cleaning, sampling, light lifting)
- Positive attitude and ability to contribute to a small team culture
- Current driver’s license and own transport
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and National Police Clearance
Roster & Benefits
- 2:1 Roster – 14 days on and 7 days off
- Site located approx. 40 minutes north of Southern Cross, WA
- Accommodation provided (own room) + meals included
- Travel allowance (one-way into camp)
