Protech are currently seeking experienced Civil Labourers to perform ongoing government civil maintenance works, based out of the Smithfield depot. These roles support essential public infrastructure projects and offer stable, long‑term opportunities.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Immediate start available
- Casual roles with ongoing work
- Local government civil maintenance projects
- Based from the Smithfield depot
- Possible DIDO arrangements depending on project and location
- Participation in an on‑call roster (monthly and occasionally twice monthly)
- Pay rate: $42.95 per hour + overtime penalties
- Overtime and additional hours available when required
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- General civil labouring and maintenance duties
- Assisting with road, drainage, and public infrastructure maintenance
- Set up, operation, and dismantling of onsite equipment
- Working safely around live traffic, plant, and public areas
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant worksite
- Responding to call‑outs as part of the on‑call roster
TICKETS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Proven civil maintenance experience
- Strong understanding of the role and expectations
- Willingness to undertake continuous, physical labouring work
- Construction White Card
- Current MR/HR Licence and reliable transport
- Ability to travel to the Smithfield depot
- Willingness to participate in an on‑call roster
- Possession of key tickets are advantageous, including (or a combination of):
- Traffic Control (TC & TMI)
- Chainsaw
- AC/DC (Asbestos Awareness)
- Relevant civil plant and high‑risk work tickets
ABOUT YOU
- Reliable, safety‑focused, and physically fit
- Previous experience on council or public works projects
- Flexible with work hours and call‑out requirements
- Actively seeking stable, ongoing civil maintenance work
