Protech are currently seeking Field Assistants / Labourers to work from the Aratula Depot as part of the Fire Ant Program with an induction being conducted on the 3/7/2026 through Biosecurity Queensland. Start the following Monday.
MUST live within 1hr of Aratula.
This is an ongoing position and will require thorough and effective surveillance and treatment of insect pests through Southern Queensland.

Pay rate – $34 + per hour
Able to work up a 9 day fortnight, Monday to Friday, with an RDO every fortnight, at times, there may be a requirement for weekend work for those who are interested in taking this up
Start and finish times – 6.30am – 3.30pm
PPE provided
Vehicle provided during work hours
Key Duties:
Visual surveillance and bait treatment for insects
Daily reporting tasks, data collection and record keeping on Ipad
Driving Company vehicle
Mandatory Position Requirements:
Car licence (Opens desirable but P’S may apply)
MUST have outdoor work experience in Landscaping, Agriculture, Arboriculture, Land Management and Conservation, Civil, Farming OR Recreational Bushwalking or Hiking
MUST be physically fit as the role requires substantial walking through challenging terrain up to 10 – 15klm per day
Ability to work in a team environment
Face to Face customer service experience
Pass a drug and alcohol screen
Must be able to complete and pass a Police check
As mentioned above MUST live within 1hr of Aratula and be available for the Friday induction.
