About the Role
Protech are seeking a motivated and reliable Forklift Operator / Labourer to join our Client’s busy steel distribution and production team. This role is responsible for the, production of steel products, safe handling, storage, and dispatch of steel products.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming steel products and materials.
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for dispatch.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts and overhead cranes (where licensed).
- Maintain accurate inventory records and stock levels.
- Conduct regular stock takes and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure steel products are stored safely to prevent damage.
- Keep the work area clean, organised, and compliant with workplace health and safety standards.
- Work closely with production and dispatch to meet customer delivery requirements.
Skills & Experience
- Current Forklift License (essential).
- Ability to safely handle long and heavy steel products.
- Good numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills and experience using inventory or warehouse management systems.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team.
- Commitment to workplace safety and safe manual handling practices.
