HC / Float / Freight Operator
Darwin & NT Projects – Must be currently based in Darwin to apply
Protech Darwin is currently seeking experienced HC Drivers for ongoing work across major Civil projects throughout Darwin and the Northern Territory.
We are partnering with well‑established civil contractors delivering Subdivisions, Drainage Works, Road Projects, and Large Scale Infrastructure.
Opportunities are available for both local and away work in the coming weeks.
Your Role
- You will play a key role in the safe and efficient transport of freight across our operations. You will be responsible for operating Heavy Combination vehicles and float equipment, ensuring freight is loaded, secured, transported, and delivered in accordance with safety, compliance, and customer requirements.
- Safely operating HC vehicles, floats, and associated equipment.
- Loading, restraining, and unloading freight in line with industry standards and procedures.
- Conducting pre-start, shutdown, and routine vehicle inspections.
- Completing delivery documentation and electronic reporting accurately.
- Maintaining compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management, and road transport regulations.
- Communicating effectively with supervisors, customers, and team members.
- Ensuring vehicles and equipment are kept clean, presentable, and in good working order.
- Delivering a high level of customer service while meeting operational schedule
What We Offer
- $47 – $53 per hour + penalties
- Local work with Travel & meal allowance
- Away work with incentives
- Major long term Civil Projects
- Temp to permanent opportunities
- Consistent hours and strong pipeline of work (50–60 hours per week)
Requirements
- White Card
- Current HC Driver’s Licence and reliable transport
- Proven experience as a Civil HC Driver
- Ability to pass a urine Drug and Alcohol test and potentially a Police Check
