FIFO Opportunities – Process / Lab Technicians & Store Persons (Phosphate Hill Mine Shutdown | Site Role)

Protech are currently seeking experienced Process / Lab Technicians and Store Persons to support upcoming mine site shutdown campaigns within a mineral processing environment.
These roles are shutdown-based (short-term project work) with two crews scheduled:

• Crew 1: Mobilising July 2026
• Crew 2: Mobilising October 2026

This is a great opportunity to secure work across planned shutdown periods while gaining valuable site experience in a fast-paced environment.
To be successful, you will bring strong processing or operational experience, with laboratory and/or warehouse skills highly regarded depending on your discipline. You’ll be working as part of a small, dynamic team where flexibility, teamwork, and a proactive attitude are essential.
This is a FIFO role from Townsville.

Key Responsibilities Process / Lab Technicians:

• Operate and monitor mineral processing equipment on site
• Conduct sampling, testing, and analysis (lab duties where applicable)
• Maintain a strong focus on safety and safe work practices at all times
• Ensure compliance with site safety procedures and standards
• Ensure safe and efficient plant operations
• Work collaboratively within a tight-knit team environment
• Maintain accurate reporting and documentation

Store Persons:

• Manage warehouse and inventory control processes
• Receive, dispatch, and store goods safely and efficiently
• Maintain accurate stock records and inventory systems
• Operate forklift and other warehouse equipment
• Ensure adherence to site safety and compliance standards
• Support site operations through efficient materials handling
• Use of SAP

• Demonstrated commitment to safety and safe work practices
• Ability to work rotating day and night shifts
• Comfortable working within a small, dynamic team
• Reliable, adaptable, and team-oriented
• High safety culture

Process / Lab Technicians:

• Processing experience within a mineral processing/mine site environment is essential
• Laboratory experience is preferred
• Relevant tickets/licences highly regarded, including:
  • Working at Heights
  • Confined Spaces
  • Forklift (advantageous)

Store Persons (Mandatory Requirements):

• Pre-employment medical assessment and First Aid certification (must have)
• Forklift ticket (must have)
• Current Driver’s Licence
• Phosphate Hill current inductions
• Previous warehouse, stores, logistics, or inventory control experience
• Availability for both day and night shift (must have)
• Strong computer and literacy skills
• SAP Experience

Roster

• 8 days on / 6 days off
• Rotating day and night shifts
