Our partnership with AITC first began around 18 months ago, when Protech worked with ten civil construction school-based trainees (AITC students) on a massive infrastructure project in Brisbane. While Protech acted as their legal employer, offering ongoing support and mentorship, AITC provided their senior school education and coaching. The program yielded phenomenal results, where these trainees graduated high school and went on to work for some of Protech’s biggest clients, making waves in the industry at only 18 years of age.
Owing to the success of this previous collaboration, Protech and AITC have teamed up to create the Protech x AITC Academy, further enhancing this opportunity for ambitious and passionate high school students who aspire for a successful future in the civil construction industry.
About the Program
For high-achieving students who wish to work on multi-million dollar projects and partner with industry giants, the Protech x AITC Academy program is the ideal opportunity to develop expertise and hone their skills.
Starting in Year 10 at AITC’s Spring Hill campus, the program kicks off with their school education, on-site visits, and comprehensive technical training. Students can then enrol in a school-based traineeship with Protech, spending six weeks in the industry, building their portfolios, and becoming exposed to large-scale projects early on, with the other six weeks completing their schooling. The unique program is a mix of collaborative classroom learning, on-site technical training, job shadowing, employment opportunities, and much more.
Training with Protech is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to gain invaluable insight into the civil construction industry. Through this collaboration, Protech aims to empower students wishing to make their mark on Brisbane’s infrastructure and development.
Building the future of the industry
Joining the Academy program guarantees employment before students graduate Year 12, with Protech offering training and apprenticeships in civil engineering, construction, mechanical, automotive, and ICT.
Our program helps career-oriented high school students by giving them explicit insight and early access to large-scale projects and opening up employment opportunities through industry-driven education. Once students graduate from the Academy, they have already been introduced to major contacts in their desired industry, and are fully equipped to kickstart promising careers in the infrastructure sector.
